Our Programs & Classes

Students and enthusiasts of Tang Soo Do have many reasons for their interest in this and other martial art styles. Some are drawn to the physical fitness and weight-loss aspects of training. Others seek to add discipline and self control to their lives. While still others are concerned about safety and self-defense.

Whether you are interested in our programs for mental or physical well being, Yi's Karate of Vineland offers a number of programs that will fit your developmental needs and your busy schedule as well.

Little Tiger at In-House Tournament
Little Tigers 4-6 Yr. Olds
Little Tigers is a very active and FUN program for younger children. In this progam the children learn the fundamentals of Tang Soo Do and begin developing a healthy mind, body, and spirit. Some of the skills that martial arts teach are; respect, confidence, focus and concentraion, self discilpline, positive attitude, setting and achieving goals, balance, coordination, self defense and basic safety skills.

The life we lead is the result of the choices we make. A Successful Life is about Making the Right Choices. Children attending Yi's Karate of Vineland will develop skills that will help them throughout their lives. We teach them about respect and discipline, concentration and persistence, control and self-esteem, and having and achieving goals. Through our unique program children develop the confidence to make the right choices and to strive to achieve more.

Adult
Our adult program is designed to enrich your life. If you are seeking physical fitness, a more positive mental outlook, and a stronger more vital inner spirit, then Tang Soo Do is right for you. With its origins over 2,000 years ago, Tang Soo Do is the ideal way to improve fitness, flexibility, and mental accuity, and stregnthen your inner spirit. Our program will give you a total body and mind workout, while teaching you to defend yourself. Some of the benefits of our program include; phyiscal fitness, sharper mind, self-confidence, discipline, a tranquill and more energetic spirit, and relaxation and stress release, enabling you to live a happier, healthier life.

Women's Ho Sin Sul
Our Basic Self-Defense course teaches practical methods and strategies of self-defense that will work for everyone.

All Belts - Youth & Adult
This Class is for All Youth & Adult Students. The focus of this class is Hyungs (Forms) and Il Soo Sik (One Steps).

Tai Chi Chuan
Taijiquan (pronounced tie jee chwan) is one of three “internal” or soft styles of Chinese martial art. Most people are familiar with the Tai Chi (Chuan), which is the older Romanization of the Chinese pronunciation. Taijiquan literally translates as “supreme ultimate fist.” It is based on the Daoist concepts of yin & yang and how the two interact with and transform into each other via “taiji”. Taiji represents a subtle, unseen force akin to gravity. You know gravity exists and what it does, but you cannot “see” gravity.

Taijiquan is known around the world as a health maintenance art. Medical studies have shown that regular practice reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, gently builds strength (particularly in the lower body) & co-ordination, and increases ability & awareness of balance. As a healing art, it is also based directly on aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine, especially acupuncture and the theory of energy flow throughout the body. At a higher level, Taijiquan is done as a moving Qigong type of meditation.
